Attention bikers! Let’s take note of the 6 points to check before going through the rain!

Driving a motorcycle during this rainy season can be very dangerous and difficult to avoid for all bikers.

It is also highly important to take care of the motorcycle during this time as the rain can affect the engine system of the motorcycle. Since you will have to drive through the rain, floods and potholes, you need to always be ready before leaving the house. But how do you know which part of the bike you need to check?

Today, PTT Lubricants will share with you 6 checklist points that every biker should pay attention to in this rainy season. No matter how hard the rain is, you won't have to worry about anything. Let's see what they are!

1. Tires

As tires are responsible for keeping the wheels attached to the road surface, maintaining balance and preventing slipping, it is necessary to check motorcycle tires before riding every time. You need to check the tread rubber to see the hardness of the rubber and efficiency in squeezing water. If the tread appears to be hard or the rubber texture is cracked and deteriorated, the tire must be replaced right away. Don't forget to inflate the tires to the proper level as well.

2. Brake system

It is better to regularly check the brake system as the equipment inside the engine has a higher chance to deteriorate during the rainy season. If there is any abnormality such as thinner brake pads, cloudy brake fluid, abnormally decreased brake fluid, worn out brake disc, have that part replaced right away for your safety.

3. Lighting system

If you need to drive at night or have to drive through flooded areas, the lighting system is an important part to ensure driving safety. The headlights, brake lights, taillights and turn signals must be checked whether they work or not.

4. Engine oil

If you have just driven through a flood or pothole, checking the engine oil level and condition from the dipstick is very necessary. If the engine oil level is below the specified threshold, abnormally decreased or becomes cloudy, The oil should be changed as soon as possible to prevent severe damage that may follow.

5. Rust inhibitor

It is recommended to use a rust inhibitor during the rainy season. The rust inhibitor is considered a necessary item in taking care of a motorcycle during the rainy season as the parts inside the motorcycle will be exposed to rainwater which can hasten the cause of wear or deterioration.

6. Air filter

Humid air during the rainy season will prevent the air filter from working efficiently. Therefore, it is recommended to always keep the air filter dry and clean. If the filter is wet or damp, it can result in clogging.

Now that you have learned all the checkpoints, taking care of a motorcycle in the rainy season is no longer difficult, right? Don't forget to check these 6 points every time before leaving your house during this rainy season. With care from PTT Lubricants💙
