PTT Lubricants tenichians talk: which type of coolants is good for your car?

Coolant, an important liquid that drivers need to know before filling it up to their beloved cars.

Car maintenance is not just about the external parts. The internal parts are important too. It’s necessary to take care of the car's cooling system in order to keep the car working at its full performance and prevent serious damage.

Today, PTT Lubricants will introduce the different types of superior quality coolant products so that everyone can use them correctly. Let’s see how many of them and what applications they are suitable for!

1. Ready to use or premixed coolant

This is the easiest and most convenient type of coolant. Since the coolant has been mixed with clean water in the proper ratios according to the car manual., u Users will not have to worry about the dirt and metal ions contaminated in the water that can lead to scale build-up within the components in the cooling system and radiator. Moreover, the premixed coolant can be added to the radiator and coolant expansion tank right away, including for top-up, drain and fill) and flushing to clean the cooling system and the radiator.

SUPER LONGLIFE COOLANT PREMIXED (Fluorescent Green Color) and SUPER LONGLIFE COOLANT-R PREMIXED (Fluorescent Pink Color)

The superior quality ready-to-use coolants with radiator protecting power. Both of the premixed coolants have been diluted with deionized water (DI) that has very low hardness and mixed with ethylene glycol and premium inhibitor with Direct Anode Deactivated Technology (DADT). They also meet international quality standards such as ASTM D 3306, ASTM D 6210, JIS K2234, JASO M325 and OEM standards. The coolants are suitable for all types of vehicle cooling systems, both light and heavy duty applications.

Special features

  • Excellent protection of engine, radiator and cooling system components from rust and corrosion.
  • Prevent scaling in the radiator and cooling system components.
  • Provide better heat dissipation and prevent abnormal overheating.
  • Increase the boiling point of water that help prevent occurrence of bubbles in the system.
  • Prevent water freezing even when used in extremely cold climates.
  • Prevent seal swelling and leakage.
  • Extend the coolant changing intervals.

2. Concentrated Coolant that must be mixed with water before use

The concentrated type coolant is needed to be mixed with clean water according to the suitable ratios in the car manual before use. The recommended ratio between water and concentrated coolant is generally about 50:50%. However, for better cooling efficiency, you can also adjust the mixing ratio to 60:40% and 70:30%, which is water to coolant respectively. One thing that you should consider and carefully select when mixing the concentrated coolant is the water quality/cleanliness. It should be clean water such as water that has undergone reverse osmosis process (RO water). It is better to avoid using tap water with high hardness to prevent the risk of scale build-up in the cooling system, resulting in a deterioration in cooling efficiency.

RADIATOR COOLANT, concentrated superior quality coolant with radiator protecting power. The coolant was made from a high quality monoethylene glycol (MEG), and Direct Anode Deactivated Technology (DADT) additive. The RADIATOR COOLANT meets international quality standards such as ASTM D 3306, ASTM D 6210, JIS K2234, JASO M325 and OEM standards (In the case of mixing water to coolant in the proportion of 50:50%). It is suitable for cooling systems in all types of vehicles, both light and heavy duty applications.

Special features

• Excellent in protecting the engine, radiators and cooling system components against rust and corrosion.

• Prevent scaling in the radiator and cooling system components.

• Provide better heat dissipation, and prevent abnormally high heat problem.

• Increase the boiling point of water, and prevent boiling bubbles.

• Prevent water freezing even when used in extremely cold weather.

• Prevent seal swelling and leakage.

• Extend the coolant changing interval.
