Every driver needs to know this! What are the different no-stopping signs telling you?

Let’s clear all the doubts about the no parking signs!

As a car user, drivers often have to encounter different no -parking signs in various places. However, most people are always confused when having to read long letters on the sign. Today, PTT Lubricants will introduce the meaning of each no parking sign so that everyone can follow correctly. If you are ready, let’s go!

Let's start with the one that is easiest to read. The way to read this sign is to read from the top to bottom. The word ‘except’ means to follow the rules except for the date written. Therefore, this no parking sign can be read as:

1. DO NOT park along the line EVERYDAY

2. Can park all day ONLY on Sunday

The next one will have a reading method similar to the first one, just with the exact time specified. You can find this sign during exceptionally busy times, warning you that it is a period when the car should not be left parked in that area. Therefore, this no parking sign can be read as:

1. DO NOT park along the line from 5 a.m to 10 p.m. EVERYDAY

2. Can park all day ONLY on Public holidays

Reading this sign will be more complicated compared to the first two. The name of the day of the week on the sign will be changed to even/odd days, where odd days are 1, 3, 5, 7... and even days are 2, 4, 6, 8... Therefore, this no parking sign can be read as:

1. DO NOT park along the line, EVERY odd day, any time

2. DO NOT park along the line from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. EVERYDAY

This type of sign will include additional details on even/odd days. Therefore, this no parking sign can be read as:

1. DO NOT park along the line, EVERY odd day, any time

2. DO NOT park from 6-9 a.m. and 4-10 p.m. on even day

The next sign is a sign with more texts and can be quite confusing. Drivers may need to take some time to read and understand. The sign, however, still reads from top to down just like other signs. Therefore, this no parking sign can be read as:

1. DO NOT park along the line EVERY even day

2. DO NOT park from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, whether it is even or odd day

3. Vehicles with more than 6 wheels are prohibited from parking along the line EVERYDAY

For the last sign, the easiest way to remember this sign is that it doesn't have the word "always", so drivers can stick to the times written and apply to both even and odd days. Therefore, this no parking sign can be read as:

1. DO NOT park on this side on even days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

2. DO NOT park on the other side on odd days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you see a no parking sign anywhere, do not forget to read thoroughly for your understanding and follow the traffic signs correctly to maintain our general order and safety. With care from PTT Lubricants 💙
