7 items that shouldn’t be left in the car when parking outdoors

Do you know apart from the human body, the sun also harms the car. While carrying everything in the car, whether it is clothes, food, or other belongings, can be convenient, it can also bring unexpected danger, especially in the summer when parking in the sun is inevitable.

Would it be better if you could take them out of the car first before parking?

Today, PTT Lubricants will help everyone list out 7 prohibited items that should not be left in the car when parking outdoors to prevent any potential danger. Let’s see what those items are!

Mobile Phone

A mobile phone is something that everyone tends to carry around all the time. However, if the phone is left in the car, especially during times when the temperature is high, it can accumulate heat and explode. It is recommended to park in the shade or to bring the phone with you if you know you are going to be gone for a long time for your safety.

Lighter

Lighter is something that should NEVER be left in the car, especially if you are going to park in the sun for a long time as it can cause your car to explode. When a lighter is exposed to the sun for a long time, pressure can accumulate inside of the lighter and expand the lighter until it explodes, causing damage to your car.

Power Bank

Power bank is another electronic device that people cannot live without. Do you know that the power bank has a sensitive chemical liquid that can cause major chemical reactions? If the car is parked in the sun for a long time, it will increase the risk of short-circuit and explosion of the power bank. It is better to park in the shade to reduce that risk for yoursafety.

Aerosol Spray

The heat from the sun shining down on the car can cause the chemicals and gas in the spray to slowly expand and explode. This is even more dangerous in cars that are powered by gas as gas will increase the explosion power.  It is important to check the car whether there is an aerosol spray can inside or not and take it out of the car before you leave.

Car Perfume

As the car perfume that you carry for a pleasant smell contains essential oils and alcohol, it can damage the car if it is exposed to the sun for a long time. When the packaging of the perfume is heated by the sun, it may melt and stain various spots, making it difficult to clean. You should also be careful with air fresheners that contain patchouli or camphor as it can evaporate and clog the air filter. If the filter is clogged, the air conditioner will have to work harder and will deteriorate faster.

Bottled Water

Bottled water is another item that you should not overlook. Only one bottle of water may cause more damage to the car than you think if you're not careful. When you park your car in the sun, the light that falls on the car can become a magnifying lens, causing refraction that merges at one point. The merged sunlight overheats the bottled water until it causes a fire.

Food

Food can cause more problems than just making your car messy after you finish eating. Food scraps that fall on the car seat can rot and make your car reek of unwanted odors. It can also cause germs and fungi in various spots, especially on the car seat. When that happens, you might even have to replace the entire seat.

All of these are just some of the items that should not be left in the car. Every time you are going to park, don’t forget to check the inside of your car to see if any of these things are present, and make sure you take them out! With care from PTT Lubricants.
