Checklist for your car ✅ What to inspect after the long holiday?

The long holiday is coming to an end. . Are you now fully charged and ready to get back to work? Let’s use the last bit of the long holiday to check your car’s condition before going back to work. Are there any specific spots that should be checked? Let's find out!

1. Check the overall condition of the car

As you might have taken your beloved car on a rough adventure during the holidays, you should not forget to check the condition of these 7 important points as follows:

Engine oil: Check the engine oil level, make sure it is at a proper level between the full mark (Full, F, MAX) and the low mark (Low, L, MIN). Then, check the color and condition of the engine oil, also  don’t forget to check whether the drain  interval is reached as well.

Brake fluid and brake system: Try stepping on the brake pedals  and listen to the sound. Also, fill or change the brake fluid if the specified distance is reached.
Automatic transmission fluid, clutch oil, power steering fluid: Check the oil level and the drain  intervals.

Car battery: Try starting the car to check whether the battery still works  before use.

Wheels and Tires: Inflate the tires and check the treads to see if they are still in good working condition.
Radiator, rubber hoses and cooling system: Check the coolant level in the reservoir and radiator.

Lighting system: Check the high-low beam headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, reversing lights, fog lights, emergency lights whether they are all working perfectly or not.

2. Check the sanitary of your car

After using the car heavily during the holidays, apart from cleaning the outside of the car, various points inside the car should not be overlooked as well since there may be dirt or germs lurking in it.

Steering wheel: As it's the point we touch the most in the car, it should be cleaned regularly. You can dampen a cloth with disinfectant and use it to wipe the steering wheel thoroughly.

Cup holders and interior compartments: This is another area that many people often use but tend to overlook when cleaning. As there may be dirt accumulated in these areas, it is recommended to use a wet tissue or a damp cloth to wipe off the stains.

Car floor mat: If the mats are stained with mud or dust, you can take them out and wash them thoroughly, then hang dry in the sun.

For anyone who has not been using  the car at all during this long holiday, you should be concerned about the car’s battery.  Car batteries   that have been used for over  2 years, leaving the car parked for a long time without using it may result in  dead battery, causing starting problems. Therefore, you should try starting the car 1-2 days before the next use. If it is difficult to start or does not start at all, try to jump start the engine or get the battery replaced at the service center. However, note that battery life depends on the maintenance and use as well.
