6 secret tips to drive fuel-savingly
It has become our routine these days to go on social media and check whether the fuel prices increase again. 1. Plan and check the traffic before you drive
Stucking in traffic for hours while the engine still runs is one of the main causes of high fuel consumption. In addition, it consumes so much of our time and mentality. So, be sure to plan and check the traffic jam of your route before you leave the house!
2. Drive at an optimum speed
The faster we drive, the more fuel our engine consumes. Under normal circumstances, most cars are the most fuel efficient when running at a speed of about 50-80 km/h, depending on the performance of the engine of each car model. If we are not in a hurry or we are driving in the city where the car can only move slowly, try to maintain driving at optimum speeds within the recommended range of 50-80 km/h to avoid high fuel consumption.
3. Avoid unnecessary acceleration
For those with the driving behavior of abrupt acceleration and braking when driving in heavy traffic, try to change this behavior and adopt the Walking Speed technique instead. It is the technique when the gear remains in D position and we just let the car move by itself without touching the accelerator pedal and just softly step on the brake pedal when needed. 4. Carry things as necessary

Therefore, if you are the type of person who likes to keep things in the car, try to store only what is really necessary so that you can save more fuel and the car won’t have to bear too heavy loads. This will help keep the inside of your car clean and tidied as well!
5. Always check tire pressure
Leaving the tires flat will cause more friction and will result in unnecessary work of the engine. That makes it consume more fuel than usual. Therefore, the tire should be inflated according to the standards pressure set for both front and rear wheels not only to save fuel but also extend the life of the tires.
6. Choose the right engine oil and have it changed periodically
Vehicles that have its engine oil changed at the appropriate intervals tend to have less engine wear and can maintain good performance. The fuel consumption rate will also be lower than those that do not have the engine oil changed periodically. In case of a new car with low mileage and no problem of too much engine oil top-up rate, it is recommended to choose the right viscosity of engine oil as specified by the owner car manual. Make sure that the viscosity grade is not too high (such as SAE XW-20 or XW-30), as the lower viscosity grade will create lower internal friction. Therefore, the resistance within the engine will also be reduced and will help save fuel. Moreover, be sure to select an engine oil that has been certified by standards that have fuel economy improvement testing, such as the ILSAC standard for gasoline engines, including ILSAC GF-5 , GF-6A and GF-6B as well as ACEA A5/B5, ACEA C2 etc..
